Melbourne Property Investors Expo Wrap Up

by

By Cam McLellan

Had a fun week in property last week. It was the Melbourne Property Investors expo at Jeff’s Shed. I took Angus, my five year old in and he hung out on the side of the stage, playing with his Skylanders whilst I was interviewed by Australian Property Investor (API) Magazine’s Editor Nicola McDougall, each day.

While hanging out at the Open stand, I did some quick whiteboard exercises for one young couple, on releasing equity from the primary place of residence. Then using that as a deposit and buffer to buy another investment property. It was a revelation for them which was awesome. It really is the simple things that make the most sense. I love seeing those light bulb moments occur for people.

I also had a debate with a guy from Brisbane on stage with Nic from API mag hosting on the Saturday. The debate centred on which city market was better to invest in currently – Melbourne or Brisbane. I was debating for Melbourne but made a confession at the end. Check it out here.

I did manage to take off early on Sunday and got the kids out in the boat for a few hours, so they were happy. Big weekend this weekend with the footy. I’ll be over at a mates place having a few while we watch the game. North are out of the running so I don’t really care who wins.

Next week I might take off to Torquay seeing the suns out. Start to fine tune my sand castle building skills with the kids ready for summer.

Check out my interview with API Editor Nic McDougall here and my debate here.

I turned the tables on Nic from API and interviewed her back – check it out here.

Also Al and I interview Andy from Smart Property Investment magazine – check it out here.
